\[ \bEff = \frac{\rSN + 10(\log_{10} 2 – \log_{10} 3)}{20\log_{10} 2} \approx \frac{\rSN – 1.76}{6.02} \]

雑音信号 $x_\text{n}$ の標準偏差を $\An$ とすると雑音のパワー $\Pn$ は $\An^2$ である(なぜならば $T>0$ を十分長い観測時間として $\An\coloneqq\sqrt{\frac{1}{T}\integrate{0}{T}{x_\text{n}^2}{}{t}} = \sqrt{\Pn}$)。

\[ \begin{align*} \frac{\Afl}{\sqrt{3}\;2^{\bEff}} &= \An \quad \therefore 2^\bEff = \frac{\Afl}{\sqrt{3}\An} \\ \therefore \bEff &= \log_2 \frac{\Afl}{\sqrt{3}\An} = \frac{\log_{10}\frac{\Afl}{\An} – \log_{10}\sqrt{3}}{\log_{10} 2} = \frac{10\log_{10}\frac{\Afl^2}{2\An^2} – 10(\log_{10}2 – \log_{10}3)}{20\log_{10} 2} \approx \frac{\rSN – 1.76}{6.02} \end{align*} \]
